School Rules

  • Student must carry his/her almanac to school everyday. It must have his/her photograph and identification information complete and signed by parents.
  • Students should be neatly dressed. The school uniform is to be worn on all working days. Strict action will be taken against students who do no adhere to the uniform norms of the school.z
  • No low waist (skirts/trousers) are permitted.
  • Shirts should be properly tucked in.
  • Boys should get their hair cut at regular intervals.
  • No spikes/streaks are permitted.
  • The boys in senior classes need to shave at regular intervals.
  • Girls should plait their hair if it is below their shoulders. Short hair should be neatly cut and pinned.
  • Students are expected to respect the property of others. This includes respect for school property. No student should damage any school furniture, write or draw anything on walls, furniture or in any ways damage things that belong to others.
  • Damage done, even by accident, should be reported at once to the class teacher or the principal. Any damage done will be made good by the one who causes it.
  • The school is not responsible for goods lost. It is advisable not to bring valuable articles (like expensive watches, pens, mobiles, i-pods, cameras, pen drives, CDs, etc.) to school. If your ward needs to bring in any of the above-mentioned items, it should be deposited with the class teacher for the day. In case, the student is found carrying any of these valuables they will be confiscated and not returned.
  • Students are not to wear any jewellery to school (e.g.. chains, rings, bangles, bracelets, etc.) Girls may wear only one pair of ear rings or studs.
  • Students who come to school in the care of servants should never leave before the servants arrive. In case of delay, they should report to the school office. Those who go along should be prompt in returning straight home.
  • Students should be polite wherever they go. They should always remember that the school is judged by their conduct. They should greet their teachers when they meet them. Bullying and use of foul language are punishable offences
  • The School reserves right to suspend or take strict disciplinary action against a student whose diligence or progress in studies, is constantly unsatisfactory or whose conduct is harmful to other students.
  • As far as possible, once a child has come to school, he/she should not be taken home on half day leave. No short leave will be granted under any circumstances on the weekly test days. In case the student writes the test and then leaves, he/she will be marked absent for the day.
  • Students should get their Report Cards signed by their parents/guardians within five days of the receipt of the Report Cards and return them to the class teachers. It lost, fine will be imposed.
  • Students must no miss any teaching/games/library/activity periods
  • No student should indulge in any of the following practices:
    • Spitting in or near the school building.
    • Disfiguring or otherwise damaging any school property .
    • Smoking and Chewing Tobacco
    • Any form of gambling
    • Rowdy and Rude behaviour
    • Use of violence in any form
    • Casteism, Communalism or practice of untouchability.
    • Only vegetarian food is allowed in school premises.
  • Student, under any circumstances, should not drive down to school. Strict action will be taken against the student violating this rule.
  • Students are expected to maintain discipline while traveling in the school bus. found misbehaving, the bus facility will be withdrawn with immediate effect.
  • The Observance of rules of discipline of the school and good behaviour is compulsory and if the student violates the school rules or indulges in any form of indiscipline, strict action like expulsion/suspension/rustication shall be taken against the student.


Discipline

Adequate care is taken by the teachers to look into special cases & give them individual help & care. Although, in few cases it becomes mandatory to take strict disciplinary action on the following grounds:

  • Disciplinary
  • Unsatisfactory progress in work
  • Use of abusive language
  • Misuse/damage of school property
  • Carrying of forbidden articles to the school
  • No PDA (public display of affection) between students is allowed.
  • Buying and selling of any goods amongst students.
  • Unparliamentarily language against any in the school.
  • Inciting of any communal/regional/class biases.
  • Wrong etiquette in the bus.
  • IN CASE OF ABOVE MENTIONED CASES, A RED/YELLOW CARD WILL BE ISSUED.
  • After individual counseling, if the behavior persists, a second warning will be issued which entitles the child for suspension from the school for a week after the 'DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE MEET'.
  • The school reserves the right to expel the child after issuing slips.
  • The parents can avail the facility of school counselor for any behavioral problems.
  • The students who fall under the category of 'discipline challenge' will face the 'DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE' constituting of the school Director, Principal, Vice Principal, Coordinator, Class Teacher. The verdict of the committee is binding.


CODE OF CONDUCT & DISCIPLINE FOR THE STUDENTS

  • Attend the school punctually & regularly.
  • Never absent yourself, unless it is absolutely necessary. Come to school in proper uniform.
  • Keep your school campus neat & clean
  • Wish your Principal, teachers, class and school mates and the visitors to school.
  • Be attentive in your class.
  • Always do your homework carefully and properly.
  • Always speak in English when you are in the school campus.
  • Always stand when your teacher or a visitor comes.
  • Respect and obey your teachers, parents and elders.
  • Observe perfect discipline in and outside the class room.
  • Keep silence in the Morning Assembly.
  • Always go from your class room for the Assembly in an orderly manner.
  • Be polite and courteous everyday.
  • Never damage the school property.
  • Damage done, even by chance, should be reported at once.
  • Pay duly for the damage.
  • Never waste your time.
  • Take care of your health.
  • Always bear a smile on your face.
  • Changing of class room between periods should be done in silence and in order.
  • No book (other than text books or library books, magazines or papers or books
  • prescribed by the teachers) should be brought to the school.
  • After the school is over, do not loiter on the way, go home straight.
  • Do not buy anything specially eatables, form street vendors.
  • Participate whole heartedly in all the school activities.
  • Do not keep your hands in the pockets when your talk to your elders.
  • Switch off fans & lights when not in use.
  • 75% attendance is a must for promotion to next class.
  • Come to the school on working /non-working days, in school uniform only.
  • Students must make aim / goals according to their interest & work hard to achieve it.
  • Cultivate hobbies like reading, painting, music etc.


Damage Charges

Students will be charged double the cost of articles for damage of school's property. The standard penalty for some damages: -

CCTV Camera/ Smart classes Rs. 7000
Bathroom Fixtures Rs. 5000
Mobile Confiscation Rs. 1000 & Mobile non-returnable
Switch Board Rs. 1500
Any Other Rs. 1000-5000
Other articles damaged shall be charged twice their cost price.

RECOMMENDATIONS for Parents/Guardians

  • Check your ward's almanac daily. Do sign the remarks if any and takes necessary action.
  • See that you ward carries books/exercise books according to the Time Table for that day. No extra book will be allowed.
  • See that he/she is prepared for the tests and brings answer sheets to school. Please ensure that you see his/her Report Card and teacher's remarks in his/her classwork/homework exercise books and almanac. Encourage your ward to take a balanced interest in studies, co-curricular activities and sports.
  • Leave for half day should be avoided as far as possible for security reasons. In an emergency, written permission must be taken from the Principal.
  • Children, when sick, should not be sent to school to attend classes.
  • Parent's are advised to be Conscious of the fact that SCHOOL IS A ACTUALLY A SUPPLEMENT TO THE HOME, AND NOT IT'S SUBSTITUTE. It is very important that parents/guardians extend their co-operation to the school in all matters concerning their ward. Parents should help the child develop a study plan at home and see that it is adhered to.
  • Parents must read the circulars sent from the school carefully.
  • The parent will bear the rent of the costumes / jewellery/props etc. to be worn by their ward on school functions / dance competitions / fancy dress shows etc.
  • Private Vehicles: Parents are free to hire private vans/auto rickshaws/rickshaws for their ward. Parents are to directly deal with the Transport Contractors (van/auto rickshaw/rickshaw) hired by them for Transport fee and any other problem related to Transportation.
  • The school shall not be responsible for any problem faced by parents in the transportation facility (Private Vehicles) chosen by them. IT IS HOWEVER, COMPULSORY FOR THE PARENTS TO INFORM THE SCHOOL RECEPTION AND THE CLASS-TEACHER ABOUT: (a) Name of the Van driver (b) His address and mobile number.
  • The School sends 'ACKNOWLEDGMENT SLIP' with certain important notices to confirm that the parents have received the Notice sent for them. The parents must sent the 'Acknowledgment Slip' back to the class-teacher on the very next day after filling it up.
  • Students are to bring their lunch box with them in the morning.
  • Parents must inform the school about any change in their address or phone numbers/mobile numbers.

SCHOOL BUS RULES

  • Transport facilities are provided for the convenience of the students, although it is not an obligatory service of the school.
  • Application for school transport, transport cancellation, change of bus stops, change of bus route etc. should be submitted to school Transport Incharge one month in advance.
  • Buses will be available only on the routes and at stops fixed by the school and any request for new stops will not be entertained. However, the school reserves the right to make any change if found inevitable.
  • Students must report at the scheduled stop 5 minutes before the bus arrival time.
  • Students will be allowed to board a bus other than the one allotted, unless he/she has written permission from the school authorities.
  • If a student wants to get down at a different bus stop, he/she should submit a request signed by the parent to the Principal/Transport Office and obtain special permission for the same.
  • The bus facility will be cancelled for those students who damage any bus fittings
  • Or indulge in acts of misbehavior/indiscipline in the bus.
  • In case of misbehavior in the bus, the teacher/driver is authorized to take immediate necessary steps and report the matter to the Principal/Transport
  • Incharge for further action, if necessary. Such a student will taken off the bus.
  • Eatings drinking or playing any game in the bus is strictly forbidden.
  • As you are aware the school will take every precaution for the safety of the children, however, the school is not responsible for situations beyond their control.
  • Whenever there is an after school bus route, the buses will cover only a few common stops on the main roads in that area. The regular route will not ply on such occasions.
  • Parents are requested to forward all requests regarding transport to the Transport Incharge. All requests may not be feasible.
  • Parents of children from classes Nur to V should come/send a responsible person to receive their ward from the bus stop failing which the child will be brought back to school.
  • Please ensure that, under no circumstances, any parent board the bus to discuss no problem of their ward. In case any issue is to be discussed, please meet with the school authorities.


House System :

To develop qualities of leadership, self-reliance and team work, students are grouped under different Houses, based on names of our Rivers distinguished by the names which signify their ideals. The selection / appointment of House Captains/Prefects is based on merit.

The houses and their respective colors are:-

Ganges House-Green Color Chenab House-Red Color
Jhelum House-Blue Color Satluj House-Yellow Color
Summer sports T- shirt should be according to the House colour.


DRESS CODE

  • Identity cards: The students must wear their identity card daily to the school. The school ID card will be provided by the school at minimal cost.
  • Students should be habitually clean and always neatly dressed. The school uniform should be worn on all working days and for all school functions. Students who are slovenly dressed or not in proper uniform will be sent back home. Casual clothes are not allowed in the school.
  • Students are strictly prohibited from applying mehndi, nail paint or hair color. Strict action will be taken against defaulters. Boys are not allowed to come to school wearing studs etc in ears or Tattoo on any body part.
  • During the dengue/chickengunia season, students have to wear white full sleeved school T-shirt and white trouser.
  • School uniform to be worn on all school outings and excursions.
  • Students may not be allowed to board the bus if he / she is not in proper uniform as mentioned above.

EXAMINATION

  • Attendance for all examinations is mandatory. Nursery-UKG (No Exam) Class I-to Class V-Three Unit Test, Half Yearly and Annual examination Class VI-VIII Three Unit tests out which best two unit tests will be considered, Half Yearly and Annual examination will be conducted. Class IX-XI Two Unit tests, Half Yearly and Annual exam will be conducted.
  • No retest will be taken.
  • Performing Arts evaluation will be conducted during their regular periods.
  • Orals for various subjects shall be conducted during the days of the examination.

  • Final result will be based on scores in 2 unit tests + Half Yearly + Annuals.
  • 40% Pass percentage in each subject - 40% in theory as well as in practicals.
  • Students getting less than 40% marks in two subjects will not be promoted irrespective of the aggregate. 40%
  • Students having less than 75% attendance (Class VI-X) may be barred from taking Annual Exams.
  • No Retest will be taken.

EXAMINATION CLASSES (IX & X) (XI & XII)

There will be three cycle tests, half yearly and annuals for class IX and XI and two cycle tests, half yearly, two pre-boards for class X & XII (Board exams as per CBSE guidelines).

  • Final result will be a cumulative one (3 unit tests + Half Yearly + Annuals)
  • 40% Pass percentage in subject-40% in theory as well as in practicals.
  • Students getting less than 40% marks in two subjects will not be promoted irrespective of the aggregate. 40%
  • Students having less than 75% attendance (Class XI-XII) may be barred from taking Annual Exams.
  • No Re-test will be taken.

Important:- If a student is found using unfair means in the exams, zero will be awarded to him / her the first time and will be debarred from any recognition from the school authorities for that academic year. If he/she repeats the same, the student will be asked to leave the school.



EVALUATION AND PROMOTION

Class Nursery-UKG: Assessment is done on the basis of Evaluation/tests and attendance Orals of Class Nursery-Il will be conducted in their respective periods.

Class I-V: The assessment for class I-V will be done on the basis of the marks scored in Unit Tests, half yearly examination and annuals examination.

Class VI-VIII: The assessment for class VI-VII will be done on the basis of the marks scored in Unit Test tests, half yearly examination and annuals examination.



PROMOTION POLICY

NURSERY TO CLASS V: No student will be detained. However, the parents will be guided, if necessary, to give their consent so that their ward may repeat the class to have better academic base.



ATTENDANCE RULE

The students must have minimum 75% attendance, failing which he/she may not be allowed to sit in the final examination and promotion may not be granted.
